In case of damages to the goods that have been incurred during the transportation, the owner of the goods shall have a right for a claim against the carrier. In case of carrier's liability insurance one should note the following:


« Carrier’s liability in road transport is limited to 8,33 SDR per gross weight i.e. about 10 USD per gross weight (CMR insurance).


« Carrier’s liability in sea transportation sis 2 SDR per grow weight.


« Carrier’s liability in air transportation is limited to maximum of 16,67 SDR i.e. about 20 USD per gross weight of the goods (AWB insurance).


Limitations to compensation
Carrier’s liability for compensation is limited to the damages caused by the fault of the carrier. Carrier is not held liable for the infliction of damage if the damage was incurred in the circumstances the carrier could not have possible have avoided.


If the value of your goods exceeds the limits to the carrier’s liability and you would appreciate to insure your risks for the cases when the carrier cannot be held responsible for damages, we would kindly advise you to buy a comprehensive transport insurance.
